Powder processing often involves bulk powders, additives, or ingredients being milled for particle size reduction. Size reduction equipment such as fine grinders, hammer mills and lump breakers use mechanical and in-air impact forces with a classifying screen to reduce material to a uniform particle size.
BFM® fitting connectors installed on the inlet and outlet connections of size reduction equipment provide visibility of the product flow while eliminating any dust leaking into the production area, resulting in fewer clean-ups required and a safer environment for operators.
The simple snap-in installation means BFM® fitting connectors are also fast and easy to remove and replace which is an advantage when equipment movement is required for cleaning and maintenance, improving overall efficiency.
Due to the high-speed internal moving parts the BFM® fitting connectors for these applications would include the Tool Release option for the safety of production and maintenance staff as the snap bands require a specifically shaped tool for removal.
